Meta keywords and tags are HTML elements that you can use in your text
in order to provide some metadata not included originally in the post.
Practically you provide extra text for the search engines’ crawlers that
scan your website for relevant content. Although meta tags are not key
elements in the SEO process it’s good to have them and include them in
your work, since as we saw in previous posts whatever you do when it
comes to SEO can only be useful.
The first way you use the Meta keywords is to enhance a particular
work in your text, trying to emphasize it. If for example you have a
website about movies and DVD sets, and you need to enhance the word
‘Season” then this word has to be used often in the main content as well
as inserted in the Meta keywords.
The second most popular way is to use synonyms in the Meta tags, or some
words that you don’t include in the original text. In the same
direction as the previous example you can use the words ‘ House’ or
‘Lost’ or ‘Spielberg” in the tags; In this case someone who is
searching for Lost can end up in your page, because of the tags.
