Google November Update and Its Impact

Google is coming to an end in November, and now we all only have another month to welcome. Each new month is, however, a challenge for the world SEO and it is getting harder than before. The update of Google in November made a big impact on various niches and the SEO sector, as it caused an important drop in traffic and the transformation of websites which are good at search results and which are sufficiently selling goods.

According to the November 9th 2019 posting on the unannounced update of SEJ Google, the Roger Montii report had a significant impact on top sites. And it is enormous this time since the downfall is unpredictable.

According to the survey conducted by Alan Bleiweiss, Forensic SEO expert around 47 sites related to mental health, travel booking B to C eCom, tech news and skin care affiliate faced a significant downfall which is around 14% to 48%.

On the other hand, other alternative health and recipe sites remain stable. However, that's not the first time google did this, as the previous Med update clarifies that google doesn't target specific niche or sites.

Where recent google update hits hard on those individuals who are doing white hat or best seo practices, where at the same time those who are using black hat / gray hat seo gets the best outcome from this update. Which is not a good sign.

However, many website owner though it's a BERT update that is connected with the search query i.e. a specific phrase search which is somehow a long tail keyword search that is related to a particular query.

But google denied the fact, as John Mueller quoted in his statement:

"Maybe, first of all, this would not be from BERT. The BERT changes are particularly about understanding user queries better and around being able to understand the text better in general. So it’s not that we would say that suddenly your page is less relevant. But rather with BERT we would try to understand does this question that someone is asking us, does it match this website best. And usually, that’s for more complicated questions. The thing to keep in mind is that we make changes all the time. We’ve made several core algorithm changes as well over the… last month or so, which kind of overlap with the rollout of BERT as well."

So, how to deal with google's November update. Well, most of the issues faced by the website owners are still the same, i.e. page speed, technical SEO issues, low quality content and wise versa. Therefore, it's better to fix the problem first.

You therefore need a highly optimized website which includes an optimized page title, well-written content and a user-friendly website and the best user experience. Last but not least, ensure that the speed of your website is good enough to allow your audience to easily surf your page.
